Worry, For What!

“Matthew 6:25-34 tells us to put off worrying since it does not benefit us. We actually gain nothing we want to keep by worrying. It is an offense to GOD for us to worry. It’s as if we are telling Him that we are so concerned that He is unable to provide us the things we need, not to mention the things we desire. We who are made in His image and likeness observe how He takes care of the birds, who never get a salary or go shopping. Yet, we struggle to accept that we who are of much greater value to HIM can be sustained by His Word. Jesus asks us why do we worry about clothes, when He arrays the wild flowers with such beauty. They did not spend a cent for their bling attire. What about us? Jesus pitied us “o ye of little faith,” He said. He then commanded us: do not worry!” Excerpt from the book Forming Faith: Owning My Christianity.
